WP1 - Mapping & SWOT Analysis


Duration: October 2010 – September 2011

WP Leader: Atlanpole Biotherapies, FR

Aim and expected outcomes:
The aim of this WP is to map the regional actors, regional resources and research potential in the consortium partners' regions and to assess their strengths and weaknesses (SWOT analysis) in order to perform a detailed analysis of the state of play of the identified research-driven clusters and of additional regional capabilities around which research could be carried out. This supposed to define a common analysis framework in order to allow cross-comparisons and the definition of possible synergies and common priorities.

Expected results:
The main deliverables of this WP will be a SWOT analysis of the targeted regions and a report on synergies, complementarities and cooperation possibilities.

 

WP2 - Joint Action Plan


Duration: December 2010 – July 2013

WP Leader: BioWin, BE

Aim and expected outcomes:
The objective of this WP is to draft a vision document presenting the major European challenges in the area of TERM (Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine), as well as the development of Strategic Research Agenda to allow the definition of a Joint Action Plan presenting actions and tools to be developed and implemented among the partners at regional, interregional and EU level. This Joint Action Plan will be then implemented and assessed for potential evolution.

Expected results:
The main results of this WP will be the publication of a TERM vision document and a Joint Action Plan after the validation of common key priorities by the Consortium's partners.

 

WP3 - Innovative tools experimentation


Duration: January 2012 – September 2013

WP Leader: Atlanpole Biotherapies, FR

Aim and expected outcomes:
The innovative tools experimentation work package will consist in putting in place the basis of a regional and European implementation of new tools and best practices identified among partners in research development and technology transfer, applied to Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine. These tools will directly aim at supporting the future implementation of the Joint Action Plan.

Expected results:
A European portal for collaboration among R&D stakeholders, financing bodies and technology demand and a common approach on education and training, a collaborative use and development of infrastructures and services and a shared European Management of TERM spin offs. This WP also intends to prepare the implementation of an inter-regional call for projects among participants regions in the TERM field.

 

WP4 - Financial engineering


Duration: September 2011 – September 2013

WP Leader: Madrid Biocluster, ES

Aim and expected outcomes:
The aim is to set-up a financial plan to support the implementation of the TERM Joint Action Plan and to define how the measures foreseen will be funded by using possibilities available at the national and regional levels, including from the private sector, or at the European level. It is also foreseen to propose recommendations for use of the next-generation European instruments.

Expected results:
Deliverables of this WP are expected to be a detailed catalogue of financing resources and programs available in the participating regions in the TERM field as well as a roadmap for financing the measures and tools of the Joint Action Plan.

 

WP5 - Dissemination, communication, exploitation and mentoring


Duration: October 2010 – September 2013

WP Leader: Medcoast Scandinavia, SE/NO

Aim and expected outcomes:
This WP will handle various roles from the optimization of the communication and dissemination strategy and tools to the mentoring of less developed clusters and regions and the set up of an exploitation plan in order to maximize the value of exploitable outcomes.

Expected results:
The main results expected are the set up of a public website and a final plan for dissemination and exploitation of the project results.

 

WP6 - Management


Duration: October 2010 – September 2013

WP Leader: Atlanpole Biotherapies, FR

Aim and expected outcomes:
The aims of this work package are to ensure a good quality work is delivered in due time and to provide support to the coordinator for the smooth management of the project (organization of meetings, helpdesk to the partners on administrative, legal and financial aspects of their contractual obligations, etc.).

Expected results:
The main deliverables of this WP are the periodic and final project reports on financial and technical aspects.

 

WP7 - Project assessment


Duration: October 2010 – September 2013

WP Leader: Interface Europe, BE

Aim and expected outcomes:
This WP will focus on the monitoring and assessment of the project progresses and results through a coherent set of qualitative and quantitative indicators but also will identify the risks and deviation regarding the Description of Work.

Expected results:
An impact assessment report is foreseen to be released.
